Released from captivity, Marine Mykhailo Dianov called the colony in the occupied Olenivka a concentration camp and told how the invaders starved the prisoners.
“They treated us like animals. It was impossible to eat. They gave us 30 seconds to eat. In 30 seconds, I had to eat everything I could. The bread was deliberately very hard, the guys who had their teeth knocked out, did not have time to eat.
It’s been 30 seconds and then you have to stop. Then you had to immediately get up and run. It was like that all the time,” Dianov said
The hero also described how prisoners were thrown into solitary confinement and tortured for picking up a berry from the ground and eating it. They were beaten with sticks, used electric shockers and stuck needles under their nails.
